THE IDEA of including a PROP or ITEM in your self-portrait that reveals something about you - is as old as photography itself...
The struggle is how to do that in an ORIGINAL WAY.

I think this is cool.It tells people about who you are by what you carry around in your pocket.

I think this is an okay idea. There are some problems with it, like with the whole credit card thing. Someone can go on here and take your information. That's not a very smart thing to do. Doing this about my self would tell you nothing. I don't carry things in my pockets. It just adds extra weight. Yeah I guess it could tell you more about the person, but head shots can tell just as much, through their facial expressions. One reason why someone wouldn't want to do this this is because maybe a person doesn't want people to know things about them.

I think it is kind of cool. Some of them are a little weirder than others and could have been put together a little nicer. Besides the point that you cannot see that persons face very well, you could learn a lot just from this picture. You could find more details from these compared to just a regular portrait. I, for one, would not do this due to the fact that I would look very strange standing over the photo copier.

I don't see this type of portrait very often and I think it's creative. By doing this, you can find out some of the person's hobbies or favorite items. This says more than a head shot would because it doesn't tell any of the persons interests or hobbies.

This type of art is very rare and expresses what people feel are necessities to have. The contents of someones pockets helps others get a sense of who the person is in many ways. These portraits are different but effective. They are abstract and beautiful.

This raunchy project gave me just the spark I needed to convince my mom to buy me a pair of Wool socks. I feel as if this would take away from the self portrait. Seems that in most of these pictures, they are focusing on the stuff in the pockets rather than the person. A couple important things to you would be o.k, but not having the materials be more important than the person.

I actually like this technique. It's definitely creative. I feel like it would tell more about a person rather than just a simple headshot of someone would. Though it isn't a very accurate portrait of the person it's a nice change from the norm.

I think that this is a cool way to do a portrait. It tells you a little bit about the person. It could tell us what kind of life the person has and everyone's is different.

I think it's cool because it tells people about who the person is. Someone might not want to do this because they would be embarrassed by what is sin their pockets. For example Morgan Bookout has all kinds of naughty things in her pocket haha.

I feel like the idea could be a cool idea, but using too many things feels like it would take away from the people themselves. I mean it can tell you more about the person, but maybe the stuff you use is not really something that really describes you but is something that you may be just carrying. However it does look kind of cool when someone uses just a couple of things and arranged it so you could also see a good amount of the person's face.

I think that it is kinda wired. I do not think this is an accurate portrait, you can not see there full face, you cant really see what they look like. I think it would tell you about me some of the different things I like. I think it would tell you more because you can see the different stuff you have. Some people would maybe not want other people could see there stuff.

I think this is unique in a way. You can defiantly tell what kind of person they are though. Just by the things they have in the pockets. I dont think its a accurate portrait because you cant even see all of there faces in most of them. You can tell more about them by this.

Personally, I don't like this portrait technique, because I think it looks a little sloppy. Although this is a really interesting idea, and it does tell a lot about a person by the contents that they carry in their pockets, I don't think it is an accurate portrait since you only see part of their face. This tells more about you as a person, because it shows what you care about in life by what you have in your pockets.

I think it is a cool thing but some of the pictures people do are really stupid. For example the one with the credit card showing. That was not good idea at all. I think it is cool though because it can show other people more about you.

I think it's creative. Some are cool, some are ameture. Some problems with this is that people are showing person things like credit cards and their license. And some peoples represent bad things about them. It's not really accurate because they are only of the side, and some you can barely see their face. Yeah, it does tell more about the person. Someone would maybe not want to do this because it could reveal things about them they dont want other people to know.

I think this tells more about the person then a plain headshot would because it shows you some things they are interested in. It also allows you to look at what they carry around with them, so if someone carries a lighter, they're probably a smoker. Some reasons people might not want to do this would be if they had something illegal in their bag, or maybe something embarrassing like a tampon. I would do it, it seems interesting...

i think this is so boring because no one wants to see a person take pictures of there head. this person has to be using some thing that in vols drugs. i will never take picture of my head and then post them in the internet so every one can see them.

I think it's an interesting idea but I don't really like it. I think a problem with this is people look really weird when they do it. I don't think it's a very accurate picture be cause peoples faces look squished or weird.If I were to do this it wouldn't tell you much about me because I wouldn't know what to put that would really represent me. I guess it would tell you a bit more than just a normal picture because it can show things the people likes. Why someone wouldn't want to do this is their face probably will look really weird in the picture.

There are some problems, for the people who put their credit cards out for everyone to see. This is kind of a accurate portrait. Doing this would tell us a lot about a person, different people carry different things. It tells you more about a person then their face does. Someone might have something bad in their pockets or they just don't like to be photographed.

I think some people get really creative with this project and they turn out pretty cool looking. No i don't think there will be any possible problem with this project it looks really easy to do. Some of them are accurate portraits but some of them are not because they all don't show there face in their. By doing this project you would be able to tell more about me because i would put things in the picture that i like to do or that shows who i am. Yeah this does tell me more about the person then just a normal head shot because they're putting objects in the picture that they like to do or something that shows who they are.
I think this girl is conceited & weird. It makes this project not that fun because you want to be more creative with photography. I think it is an accurate portrait because everyone has different styles & likes. This would tell you that I don't have many ideas. I do think it does tell more about smiles. I think a person wouldn't do this because people have different taste in styles of art.

I think this is really creative and unique. I don't know why you would want to have all of those things randomly in your pocket or where ever because that would be quiet the mess. This picture says that she likes ear rings and sparkly stuff as opposed to just a face shot that just says its another person.

I think that this is a good idea but it has its setbacks, as well as most ideas. I do not think that this is an accurate portrait of a person because this one, for example, is so edited. It might be of the person but that girl could be covered in pimples or be really ugly but, with editing she looks much better. I think it does tell you more then just a head shot would but, portraits don't have to be smiling(or a head shot at all).

i think its creatively good. though you might tell people too much imformation about you. itll tell you your interests, hobbies, even your wrong imfo like your credit card.
